Hi Jules and Matthew. I’m looking to do my farmwork from the 17/18th May (can’t go any later because the visa i’m on ends at the end of Aug)
I’ve been speaking to Laura on here and we were going to meet up and see what farms had spaces for us. Have you guys rang any farms yet and if so do any have availability?

Hey guys, due to my friend and I parting way (we each own part of the car) we are having to sell our Commodore,

These cars are super reliable and probably the most common car in australia, so its easy to get parts if anything does go wrong, plus its not your typical backpacker vehicle which mean a little less police attention which may plaque when driving a camper van. we registered it for a year from April, have put two new front tyres on, and even have a little bit of gear to through in as well. the car is very spacious and has plenty of boot space so you can carry a few people while traveling, and is plenty comfortable. Hi Gemma and Jules! Whereabouts in Sydney are you both? I’m in the suburb of Glebe just outside the CBD. Are you looking to go down the Working Hostel route? I was in a Working Hostel in Griffith, NSW and it was a good set up.
Before I left Griffith, I was told that the Queensland area (particularly Bundaberg) would be the best place to go to finish my days so I called some working hostels there before I left and I got the same responses from them all. There will be work but because of what happened with that cyclone, the picking season will be starting later than usual so I should call back in about 3 weeks time to see what the update is. So I should ring them up again next week actually. I really need to get something sorted in the next week or two as my funds are going down extremely fast here.

Sorry I didn’t get back to those who replied to my post but by the time they came, it was a little late and after a lot of thinking I decided to just stay in Sydney because things just werent working out with trying to get regional sorted. I’m in Pyrmont just next to Glebe. I was looking at Bundaberg but wasn’t sure how the Cyclone had affected things along the coast, good to know things will be going ahead. A friend warned me off working hostels as they can take you for a ride but i guess it depends if you get a good one or not. Hi Gemma! My email is matt.doyle88@outlook.com. I was hoping to get something sorted before the end of this week but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I called a lot of Working Hostels in Queensland at the weekend as I was told their season is just starting now but got the same responses from all of them. There won’t be any work available for at least the next 3 weeks. And there’s already long waiting lists for work and for beds. So I don’t know what to do. Have you rang any places?
