Yes, Doc has finally been sent down…..serves him right for ripping off all the backpackers. He used to bring them up here to Caboolture on the promise of a job…..some had flown in as far as Perth on the promise of a job and were down to their last penny. And of course, lo and behold, there were no jobs when they arrived.
But now the council are closing down beautiful, clean, well kept accommodation if they have more than five people on the premises and taking our fines and prison sentances against the house owners. This has now caused panic in with our accommodation providers and they are nervous about taking in backpackers.
There is now a lack of suitable accommodation in Caboolture and the price for a clean bed, near the farms has become very expensive.
The council refuse to listen to any association that would control rogues such as Doc Spiros and is just intent on shutting down our well kept, fire compliant houses for our workers.

    Hi,
My name is Gemma, i’m 29 and from England. I’m currently working and my first WHV runs out at the end of August 2014 so was planning to finish my current job mid-may to begin my regional work. I should then have enough time to get my 2nd WHV processed and accepted! I’m currently in Sydney but am willing to go anywhere to do the regional work really, although the closer the better for travel etc.
I don’t have a car or anything booked up yet so if anyone has any info, contacts, or are planning on going at the same time then please let me know!

    Thanks,

    Gemma.

The first thing I was told about coming to Australia is don’t make any plans, they never work out! And that’s held true so far haha because my plans have had to change again. I’ve gotten the opportunity to go to Uluru in April so I’m now staying in Sydney until the end of April and then I have to go do my regional because I’m really not leaving myself a lot of time for things to go wrong with it :-)
So is anyone up for the end of April?? I’ll be leaving the week of the 26th, for definite this time :-)

Hi guys, I am selling my little Hyundia Excel with rego until the end of July. It runs smoothly. The car is fuel efficient. The front windscreen is recently replaced. The car has been serviced in October.

A perfect car to get around places and for a backpacker that wants to go to farmers.
I used it to go do my regional work. I wouldn’t sell it if I was staying, but I am moving. 50$ of fuel you will do about 500kms.

    Unleaded petrol – 1998 – manual – 235000 kms – Perth
    1500$ negotiable
Email me (peeters.kim@gmail.com) or text me 0420227140

Hi, I’m a 24 years old girl and I come from Italy. I arrived in Australia on 18th of January with a working-holiday visa, so it’s gonna be expired on January 2015. Currently I’m working as AuPair in a family who lives in Canberra but I’m looking for a farming work in order to extend my visa for one year more. Therefore I have to start working in a farm no later than September cause I need 88 days of working. I would like to start around July/August but unfortunatly it will be winter, so I need some advices about where it’s better to go in that period. Is there anyone who has experienced working in a farm around Nws/Queensland from June til October that can give me some helpful advices? I’m also available to move in the north or on the other side of the country if there are a better climate and working conditions. Thanks, Martina
